MAD LOVE IN CRAZY TIMES

As a gift to my sister, Jessica, for their wedding anniversary, my bro-in-law Yojimbo Billions compiled a mix of love song covers that will seriously blow your mind. MAD LOVE IN CRAZY TIMES also featured my sous-chef and coconspirator, City of the Asleep. You can download the mix for free from mediafire. Please do!

LYFSTYL promoted the release of MAD LOVE IN CRAZY TIMES on their blog and interviewed me about the album art I created especially for this mix. Please click HERE to read the interview! I am quite grateful to have been a part of this amazing mix.

Is She Fixed?/Born Into This

Two shows coming up this June: "Is She Fixed?" solo show @ Little Bird organized by my bestie Jenalee Harmon
and "Born Into This" a group show organized inside a U-Haul truck by my friend Annie McLaughlin. Her painting is featured in the flier above.
I'm not ready to unveil anything yet, but the studio is getting steamy and I'll be posting things soon.

Midway

Right now I am working towards a show that will be happening at Little Bird in June, thanks to Jenalee Harmon. I've got some big works in progress, but I'm working on little things to keep me going. I'll post more info here soon, once I finish a couple of the big ones.

This drawing of sanitation workers is for an upcoming EP by Yojimbo Billions. I'll post it here when everything is finished.

Silent Art Auction

When: Saturday, September 25, 2010, from 7-10pm
Where: Rock Paper Scissors Collective, 2278 telegraph ave., oakland, ca 94612
What: Silent Art Auction to benefit the RPSC operating costs for low-cost/free classes, free gallery exhibitions, and sale of local, handmade goods.

The show opens THIS Friday, September 3rd from 6 to 10 pm at Oakland's monthly Art Murmur.

visit www.rpscollective.com for more information!

My piece, "Shhh," has a starting bid of $15. Hopefully, the drawing will go for a little bit more, as it's for a good cause! I currently volunteer at RPSC and they do a LOT of hard work for no monetary gain at all. The proceeds will go right back to serving the Oakland arts community!

"Thief" comics

This summer I started a series based on stories of a reappearing thief based in San Francisco.
These stories were originally told to me by Tiffany Parker and her coworkers.
These are the first two comics, more to come soon!

Fall 2009 Works

This semester unveiled three large works.
The self-portrait with red hair and blue shorts is representative of the direction that my work is taking right now, thus it has the most detail shots.
The body is comprised of dots that are made by dipping quills into mixed acrylic inks.
The clothing is comprised of colored pencil scribbling.
They are each about 7 feet tall and 3 1/2 feet wide.
Enjoy!
